Athletics Highlights - December 2021
- Men’s Soccer finished 12-4-4 overall, claimed the USA South Tournament championship, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to the No. 1 team in Division III by a 2-1 score. The Scots took the program’s second USA South Tournament title in a PK shootout over N.C. Wesleyan. Making their second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Scots defeated Denison, 1-0, in the first round. In the second round, the Scots played right with No. 1 Washington & Lee before a W&L goal in the 86th minute defeated the Scots. ÀÇÓѸó had seven players earn USA South honors, including Mercer Stout ’22 and Parker Owen ’22 who both earned first team accolades. Stout was the USA South Tournament MVP.
- Women’s Soccer went 13-6-2 and claimed the program’s first USA South Tournament title and the team’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Scots knocked off Piedmont in the USA South Tournament championship, 1-0, to earn the program’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Scots met No. 13 Centre in the first round and fell, 3-1. Ka
