Tribune
The Blue Tribune is your place to learn about all things ÀÇÓѸó and keep up with stories from campus and beyond. By guiding you through the different aspects of ÀÇÓѸó, we'll help you decide if you want to pursue your very own ÀÇÓѸó experience.
What Makes ÀÇÓѸó Unique?

Emails and postcards from colleges are flooding in and all of the colorful ads have attractive phrasing that excite you and make you want to conquer your dreams—but you don’t know where to start in order to pick a college. The key to sorting out what you want from your college experience is to find a school whose unique offerings line up with your values. Here are a few things that we believe make ÀÇÓѸó unique.
Education: All Learning through a Biblical Lens
At ÀÇÓѸó, academic excellence is a high priority—the academic experience is all-encompassing, equipping students for a lifetime of study and growth. What sets us apart is that we stand firm on an uncompromising biblical foundation while encouraging exploration of several fields of study. Here, practical knowledge intertwines with the curiosity of our students, fostering an environment where inquiry leads to discovery. Through our distinctive approach, students emerge not only with a robust education but also with a firm foundation in their beliefs, equipped to pour into their communities post graduation.
Central to our academic mission is accomplished faculty. These men and women are fountains of knowledge, nurturing and challenging students to grow in wisdom and Christian character. Rooted in Biblical principles, our faculty members serve as mentors, guiding students through the complexities of their chosen fields while instilling a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.
Denomination: The College of the PCA
Although students don't have to be members of the Presbyterian Church in America to attend ÀÇÓѸó, around 45% of our students are members of PCA churches across the country. The classes at ÀÇÓѸó are taught from a reformed perspective and the doctrine of grace is apparent in the classroom and throughout campus life. ÀÇÓѸó equips students to serve the church with their callings in reverent love; as President Brad Voyles says, “The church is God's chosen institution for ministering to his world. It's His chosen instrument for unleashing His kingdom on this earth. And there is no plan B. The church lasts forever, so we are tied to the church." Our deep roots in our denomination not only exist in our college’s history, but are constantly watered and nurtured, evident in the faculty and staff who are hired and the guest speakers who are brought to campus.
Integration: A Whole Person Liberal Arts Approach
ÀÇÓѸó students take part in a wide range of curriculum that not only prepares them for their careers but their callings. ÀÇÓѸó’s core classes engage students in a rich mixture of natural and social sciences, literature, philosophy, history, and the Bible—setting us apart from the discipline-specific curriculum at other schools. This liberal arts approach to education sees each student as a whole person who should be well-rounded not just in knowledge and academics, but also in character and in their relationship with Christ.
Population: A Christ-Centered Community
At ÀÇÓѸó, community isn't just a buzz word—it's a reality. Here, every individual has the opportunity to be known and mentored. Students, staff, and faculty walk together with Christ as they point one another towards the coming kingdom. Everyone on campus is a professing Christian, a part of the admissions process for students and hiring process of faculty and staff, which means we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
Our residential campus is a purposeful environment designed for strong community. Students are committed to this and work as leaders to develop lasting community on their halls through hall traditions, Bible studies, Prayer & Praise, and more. From organizing events to shaping campus culture, students play a pivotal role in crafting the vibrant tapestry of life at ÀÇÓѸó.
Location: A Mountaintop Campus
Lastly, ÀÇÓѸó is located atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia, which is where former, current, and future students have and will experience the beauty of God in both His word and creation. In every place—from the sunrise on the Overlook to the sunset nearby at Sunset Rock—Christ is found as we witness the work of our loving Creator. This sacred place has been home to generations who have left the college bringing a bit of it with them as they serve in furthering the Kingdom.
